QUESTIONS, ANSWERED
Frequently Asked Questions
What is Skybreaker Overland?
Skybreaker Overland is a premium expedition truck rental and training company. We provide access to professionally built, luxury off-road trucks for adventure travel across remote terrain — with or without a guide.
What's included in the rental?
Each truck includes full off-grid amenities, onboard recovery gear, a comprehensive walkthrough, and access to our trip support resources. Optional upgrades include satellite comms, adventure gear kits, and route consulting.
What are the driver requirements?
A valid Class 5 driver’s license is all that’s required to operate our vehicles — they are registered as RVs, which exempts them from commercial license categories in most provinces and states. However, some truck models are equipped with air brakes. If you’re renting a truck with air brakes, you may need an air brake endorsement or equivalent training depending on your jurisdiction.
We’ll advise you at booking and can help with compliance or training support if needed. Only named drivers on the rental agreement may operate the vehicle.
How much friggin’ money do these cost to rent??
Rates range from $800 to $1,200 per day, depending on the truck model. That includes way more than a standard RV: unlimited mileage, long-term discounts, full kitchen and linens, off-grid capability (no campground fees), trip planning help, fuel card savings, pre-trip stocking, and adventure gear like paddleboards, bike racks, and camp chairs. It’s a deluxe Airbnb on wheels. See “What it Comes With” for full details.
